JALANDHAR, With a view to gauging system and services being provided in the Sewa Kendras, the Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh today made a surprise visit to Sewa Kendra situated in the local District Administrative Complex.

Interacting with the people present there to get services related to different departments, Jaspreet Singh reiterated that seamless delivery of citizens centric services would be maintained to facilitate common masses. He directed the official deputed at these Kendras to provide the requisite services within stipulated time frame without any fail. The Deputy Commissioner said there were 35 such Kendras functional in the district, which provides 320 online and 105 offline services. A total 425 citizen services pertaining to various Government departments are being provided, he added.

Urging people to also get newly included services in the list, Jaspreet Singh said that people could receive services of Agriculture Department, Punjab Technical University especially the services related to taking appointment for passport application etc. The applicants can also visit http://esewa.punjab.gov.in/ to book online slot for several services.

Instructing officials deputed at Sewa Kendras to get the list of services along with charges displayed in these centres, Deputy Commissioner mentioned that this would be beneficial for the people who could get necessary info from these boards. All staff members should also check the forms of applicants meticulously so as to avert any further shortcomings besides maintaining efficiency in delivery of accurate documents saving their time. He also reviewed the system of issuing tokens, submission of documents besides delivery of services during his visit. He also assured that the District Administration would make all out efforts to further minimise the time for delivery and there should be no undue delay in providing the services.
